Where to stay | Quality permeates everything we do at Granö Beckasin & Lodge. We offer guests a choice of accommodation: cabins (simple or standard), an ecohotel and a unique series of comfortably appointed tree houses with wonderful views of the River Umeälven. The establishment is run by a local company which was set up after a local birdwatcher donated a unique collection.
"Imagine being a bird for one day, the feeling of floating among the trees and look out over the fantastic nature we share with wildlife. Getting to sleep after witnessing a magnificent aurora and wake up to the sun rising over the Ume River. In our exclusive bird nests, it is possible. " - Granö Beckasin
There are six unique bird nests, and they are well rooted in the pines along the Ume river beach, so close to nature, you can come with all the amenities you need. Furniture and furnishings are personally and carefully selected.
The village of Granö is located on the banks of the River Umeälven, 70 km west of Umeå where, several centuries ago it was a central meeting point for Sami people, settlers and state administrators to conduct affairs and trade.
Granö Beckasin is a local company inspired by the area’s heritage and local bird watcher’s devotion to our feathered friends. The complex, on a ridge beside the river, comprises a lodge, cabins, a series of exclusive tree houses and a camping site with berths for caravans, mobile homes and tents. During their stay guests can spend their time on a log raft, cycling or going on guided outdoor tours.
Providing genuine and high quality care is our key business ethos and all of our staff is passionate about giving visitors a warm welcome and a memorable experience.
