Where to stay | Quality permeates everything we do at Granö Beckasin & Lodge. We offer guests a choice of accommodations: cabins (simple or standard), an ecohotel and a unique series of comfortably appointed tree houses with wonderful views of the River Umeälven. The establishment is run by a local company which was set up after a local birdwatcher donated a unique collection.
Here you will find a peaceful camping without disturbing traffic around the corner. The campsite is beautifully close to the forest and views of the Ume River. Most pitches are by the river and there are also a number of piers next to several of the sites. It also offers simple self-catering cottages and bunk beds.
There are even more luxurious hotel cabins for those wishing to feel lluxurious. Here it is the same standard as the hotel but a bit more isolated. In the hotel- cottage there is a kitchen available, perhaps it is especially suitable for those traveling with small children.
The village of Granö is located on the banks of the River Umeälven, 70 km west of Umeå where, several centuries ago it was a central meeting point for Sami, settlers and state administrators to conduct affairs and trade.
Granö Beckasin is a local company inspired by the area’s heritage and local bird watcher’s devotion to our feathered friends. The complex, on a ridge beside the river, comprises a lodge, cabins, a series of exclusive tree houses and a camping site with berths for caravans, mobile homes and tents. During their stay guests can while away their time on a log raft, cycling or going on guided outdoor tours.
Providing genuine and high quality care is our key business ethos and all of our staff are passionate about giving visitors a warm welcome and memorable experience.
Here you will find a playground, beach, sauna, beautiful hiking areas, a cozy organic café and restaurant. You can include renting wooden boat, pedal boat, fishing equipment, bikes and more. It offers you also educational activities such as wild hers expeditions, Sami expeditions and rafting (require pre-booking).
