Örträsk - a beautiful landscape with a lot to offer

Örträsk is in the southeast corner of Lycksele municipality. This is historical ground. Öträsk got its first settlement year 1678 by Johan Philipsson Hilduinen, from Finland.

In the area there are many relics such as settlements from sami and the Stone Age and pitfalls. Several historical buildings are also located in Örträsk, for example an old school from 1860 and the church from 1849.
Örträsk is known for its beauty with its meadows on both sides of the lake and through the landscape, there is also the river Öreälven. At the river you can also see white water and waterfall called Storforsen.

The fishing is also good in this area. During winter, you can easily access the landscapes by snow mobile and summer time, boat and canoe are good ways of seeing the lake and river.

Örträsk is an active village, here you will find both restaurant and stores and many companies are located in the area.

The church was built 1849 with a medieval showcase, of pomegranate patterned velvet from the end of the 15th century.

The river is suitable for both boat and canoe and also offers fishing.

This white water area has a height of 30 meters and next to it, there is also a power station which was built 1948. In 2007, the new dam was inaugurated.
